Privacy Policy

We have created this privacy policy to let you know why we collect personal information from you and what we do with it. The Jazz Store is an independent initiative whose goal is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the principles of fair information practices. This privacy policy will identify how and why we use your personally identifiable information.

After reviewing this document, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about our privacy policy. If you do not receive acknowledgement of your inquiry or your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed, you may contact the Better Business Bureau to serve as a liaison between you and The Jazz Store to resolve your concerns.

How We Collect Information About You

The first thing to remember about privacy is that there is a limit to the amount of personal information any website can collect from you without your answering specific questions. When you set up an account on The Jazz Store, you still must provide pertinent information about yourself, including: your account number, name, address and e-mail address. Please be assured that only The Jazz Store has access to this personal information.

The Jazz Store logs IP addresses (an IP address is the location of your computer on the internet) for system administration and troubleshooting to examine the overall traffic trends. (For example, IP addresses help us determine the percentage of people coming from various online gateways, such as Yahoo! or America Online.) RedHat collects and records this information for administrative purposes only. IP addresses collected by RedHat are not linked to any personal information.

The Jazz Store uses cookies — a small data file stored on your computer — to customize portions of our website to your preferences. For example, The Jazz Store uses a cookie to identify you as an account holder and to make sure that only you have access to your own personal information. Because we use cookies, you have to answer certain questions only once, not every time you participate in an activity or event. On its own, a cookie will not reveal who you are, what your e-mail address is, or any other personal information about you. If you set up your browser to reject all cookies, please understand that your access to some areas of The Jazz Store website may be limited and you may experience problems with some of the web site's functionality.

You can browse the Jazz Store web site and read our editorial content without registering or providing any personal information. However, for any personalized services including placing an order, you will be required to provide us with some personal information: your name, e-mail address and street and billing addresses.

We collect similar information from users who choose to participate in contests and promotional events at The Jazz Store. We will always notify you before we collect any personal information from you.
