Rudy Vallee's Fleischmann's Yeast Show & Louis' Home-Recorded Tapes

This new two-CD set presents Louis Armstrong as he's never been heard before. And right now, this important new release is available ONLY at The Jazz Store.

Disc 1 is history in the making as Louis becomes the first African-American ever to lead a nationwide, prime time broadcast. In June 1937, Rudy Vallee paid for and produced the Fleischmann's Yeast radio shows after the sponsors hesitated. And these performances of Louis and his orchestra, made up of the greatest jazz musicians of the day, have been hidden away since these broadcasts went live over 70 years ago. Newly remastered to crystal clear sound, no copies of these performances have ever been heard — until now..

Disc 2 has his stories. Louis Armstrong — sometimes alone, sometimes with friends —always with his reel-to-reels running. These tracks are funny, touching and fascinating — follow Louis' thoughts as these home-recorded tapes are heard for the first time ever!
